About SNUFFBOOKS VIDEOS

In 2020, while in the midst of the Covid pandemic, the idea of producing narrated stories surfaced after watching a video presentation of the much beloved children's book, The Hungry Caterpillar. After previewing the video, along with a few others, like Peter and the Wolf, I became very interested in producing my own narrated video story content (i.e., auditioning voice talent, editing, music production, book design, etc.). Creating my own illustrations and writing riveting stories were not a priority.

Book illustrations were outsourced from stock images sites such as Dreamscape and Shutterstock. I would make minor changes to the images to make them more cohesive to the story (i.e., changing Red Riding Hood's race from Caucasian to African-American).

Producing these videos was a great exploration into the unknown. I learned so much about copyrighting and computer programs such as Adobe Special Effects and Illustrator. The greatest opportunity to come out of all this was meeting so many cool people, from voice-over artists (many from as far away as Scotland) to children's book authors currently active in the industry. I will always be grateful for their support.

All full-length videos are available on the Snuffbooks Videos page. Many of the videos includes paper craft art lessons.

After completing a video, I was left with a bucketload of images. So, I reformatted the images, numbered each file and forwarded the images (in the form of an ebook) to Amazon Self-Publishing.

Doreesha and Shannon are at odds. It may take a minor natural disaster to bring them together. I like this trailer. Alot, actually. There's a cool paper pinwheel DIY clip at the end.

This trailer was the first video I created using Adobe Special Effects. I wanted the fish to flow seamlessly, as opposed to the stagnation and often jolting effects of pasting still pictures together to create movement.

One of the first Snuffbooks written, Little Red of Riding Hood takes place in the township of Riding Hood where Little Red unwittingly saves its citizens from a wandering beast.

Why do I adore The Addams Family? Not sure. Maybe its because I do not have a family of my own and appreciate the concept of a family unit where all differences and eccentric behaviors are embraced.

The tools used for this trailer is a slight deviation from what was used in the full movie. I used Adobe Special Effects for the actual full Snuffbooks video. But for this trailer, I pieced together still images.
